In Oregon we don’t see too many war heroes from the south coming out here to help us out, but last Thursday Max Cleland stopped by, traveling all the way out here from Georgia! Why? Paul Evans of course!
Paul is one of my new favorite candidates and I can see why Cleland would travel so far to help us out in Oregon. Cleland came to support his fellow veterans in public service by speaking at events put on by Oregon State Senate nominee for the 10th District, Paul Evans. Evans is following Cleland in many ways. Paul Evans came home after touring Bosnia, touring Kuwait and have TWO TOURS of duty in Iraq. Paul Evans was elected as Monmouth City Councilor at the age of 18. Max Cleland, came home from Vietnam missing 3 limbs, two years later he became the youngest person ever elected to the Georgia State Senate, at the age of 28.
As Evans welcomed Cleland he said “We welcome Senator Max Cleland. It would be an understatement to say it is "rare" for a former U.S. Senator to be the guest of honor at 3 events hosted by a state senate candidate. These circumstances have led many to ask why Senator Cleland would be so concerned with state level politics.” Cleland hit it on the mark when he said that we Oregonians have a legitimate American hero in Paul Evans. Remarking that he is an asset to our state with a fine record in public and military service. Paul Evans campaign is the nexus of grassroots efforts, door to door canvassing, small donations, based on volunteers who believe in him. His campaign is the one to watch in the state of Oregon.
In the words of Paul Evans “It is still hard to believe that Max came to Oregon for our campaign. But he did. And his visit was more than I could have asked for. The generosity of Max and Jim Rassmann (that changed his plans to help us out) made the Portland and Salem events magical moments that everyone involved will remember for years to come.” Oregon thanks these gentlemen for helping us out!

If he's elected for this seat I can easily see him as our next Governor, Senator or???????? We shall see. Definately something to keep our eyes on in Oregon.
Max does get around, he has passion to make a change.

Best breakfast restaurant in the nation there (whoops, I am on a diet).
Max is really getting around. He just toured with Eric Massa in NY-29. Where does he get the energy!
