I didn't know Howie Klein was involved in that- there are versions of that all over Youtube & I thought it was just a good samaritan behind it!
The Mean Jean version was my sig line for weeks... I love that essay at HuffPo by Klein about Liberman- I remember the PMRC! God it almost makes me laugh to think back- the 90s seem so quaint - when censorship of rock music was all the rage... heh.

...who put it together are the Blue America team at firedoglake, of which Howie is a founding member.
It was Howie who e-mailed it to the Massa Team this morning.

a campaign actually picks up & runs that ad on television somehow. I wish the DNC or DCCC had the guts to do it in the right races.
It's so unexpected, so catchy & so sidesteps & evades the whole red/blue thing-yet the message is crystal clear. It has a weird Pied Piper quality, absolutely stands out & is so insanely catchy & unforgettable.
THAT'S the kind of creativity that is native to the left & to which more attention should be paid.

I'm pretty sure John Amato from Crooks and Liars is involved, too.
The artists by the way are The Squirrel Nut Zippers and Rickie Lee Jones.

...fascist is, as fascist does, mr. preznit

Watched the ad 1/2 hour ago and I'm still singing the tune to myself - very catchy - this is an ad people will stop what their doing just to listen to it
Now where did I put my flapper dress...? Bright red. Lots of bangles.

An attack ad on Kuhl that is so totally upbeat! Brilliant!
"Some of them put on their cowboy boots and put their feet up on the desk." -Wes Clark

am I correct in my understanding that the ad is *NOT* on television though?!
I think it would do well. I will have to keep that style in mind!

It has not aired on TV.
