Dear General Clark,

Since the fall of 2003 I have been quietly but actively involved in your work. On the Western Slope of Colorado in what was an extremely red state, my drive to promote your ideas, your issues, and what I felt at the time were the most important words spoken about the diversion from the war in Afghanistan to Iraq by the neo-cons in this administration is endless.

Prior to that, I watched CNN for your reports on the war in Afghanistan, knowing that you were true to your word.

After the 2004 election, I’ve been involved with your efforts to support Democratic candidates. WesPac/Securing America is the blog where I know I may get the real news of the day. Whenever there has been a call to action, I have been there.

This year I volunteered for the Bill Ritter campaign for Governor of Colorado, as a county coordinator. Bill has been doing so well all during the campaign, I was reluctant to make my request; however, I believe we have a chance to capture more of the Independent votes from our competitor if I might persuade you to either come to Colorado for a face-to-face “meet and greet” with the populace or publicly announce you are endorsing Bill. I believe, of course, this would best be done in or around Denver, although we would love to have you on the Western Slope.

Recently, at the Apple Fest in Cedaredge, Colorado, I handed out all of my Clark 08 buttons to formerly Independent voters as well as Democratic voters. We had a Democratic Booth for the two-day event. It went so very well, compared to the past. Folks were stepping right up and into the booth for signs, buttons, bumper stickers, and literature.

You may already know Bill Ritter or of his campaign. He was raised with eleven children in his family, worked from the time he was fourteen, put himself through college and law school and has been the Denver District Attorney for eight years now.
