Sorry, FOX News, this is what waterboarding looks like.

Recently, a Fox News correspondent underwent simulated waterboarding for a special report. The entire segment seemed a far-more sterile version of the real practice.

This video, produced for Current TV, seems to be a more realistic recreation. As difficult as it is to watch, it's important to remember that the participant (1) has received military training on being waterboarded and (2) was not plucked from the street, blindfolded, stripped naked and "disappeared" to a foreign country.

I have to imagine that this would be even more terrifying if it happened to you or me.

Hat tip to Crooks and Liars for the re-post. And to Current for the original production.

Hi Hogfan,

Frankly, if that's what we have to do to win ...

... we don't deserve to win.

What are we fighting for? The freedom to waterboard?

I was so disgusted at Fox's faux waterboarding piece. You don't have to have even this video as proof that it was entirely false - only a brain. Aside from the kinder, gentler method used on Fox, as compared to the real deal, they completely ignored the psychological difference.

What are they going to do next, put a gun to a reporter's head and threaten to shoot, to "prove" that the reporter didn't really get scared? Well, it's scary as hell when it's the enemy doing it, not your colleague whom you know won't shoot.

That's a big difference, morons.

That question says it all.

I am unable to repeat on this board the string of profanities that exited my husband's (former Naval officer) mouth when he saw that piece. It peeled the wallpaper.
