As the primary season moves into overdrive, it's good to consider viewpoints from the many sides of the political kaleidoscope. In particular, there are many blogs and websites dedicated to the viewpoints of centrists, moderates, and independents. These resources may use detailed research and lengthy prose to outline problems, discuss candidates, and provide opinions on what will happen as the election season unfolds.
Local Progressive Talk in the South Sound area of WA State

If you live in Seattle you may be able to get this station, if you can not then you can listen live online or even listen to the archived shows. Tacoma and Lakewood areas have great coverage (including McChord AFB and Fort Lewis).
This is not a big station. They have a mix of progressive, liberal, left, buisness, and even con shows.
It would help out a lot if many of you who live in this area or even those of you who do not would listen and promote the show I have linked below and this station so that we can make it grow and hopefully add more local progressive shows.

Add this to the list of non-candidate-centric CCN blog posts.
Over the years I've collected information that helps me stay safe as a pedestrian or driver. Thought I'd share them in case they help any of you.

This saturday Dec. 15th 2007 is Bill Of Rights Day.
I would expect to see the liberal/progressive blogs pushing this as a way to fund raise for our candidates and for our rights, but I see little.

Here is a passionate submission to the local publication, The Tahoma Organizer, by my friend Michelle. She, and the Organizer, have been invaluable in this community for being a voice for all of us who care what's happening in our world. Please take a moment to read:
This is Michelle's story and her words.
If you are human, this will touch you.

Columbus Wins!!!
Almost a year ago, just a day after we had won the fight to keep Progressive Talk in Madison, Wisconsin, we were contacted by Dave Daulton of Columbus, congratulating us and then begging for whatever help we could give him... you see, Columbus was about to lose its Progressive Talk station, too.

If you did not see Frontline today, then please check your listings and watch the "Cheney's Law" episode.

Let me start by stating that I have never been a big fan of the military. I always leaned more towards the dislike of the military because of what it does and stands for - death and destruction (I know, it is needed at times). Wes Clark helped turn that train of thought a little bit.
All to often we argue with tough guy righties (some who are in the military) who think war is cool, glamorous and that we need war to prove how tough we are.
Some can never be changed (they are boneheads with more testosterone then brains).

Below is what I sent in an email to IAVA and others. How does it make you feel? What are your thoughts?
I and some others just saw your new video.
We are not happy.
I have been a big supporter of IAVA and Paul Rieckhoff. I am also a big Wes Clark supporter and when you do things like this it makes me question my support.
Why is this video a good thing? Seems like something the righties would put together.
With all that goes on with women in the military getting raped, mistreated, etc. ... why is it a good thing for IAVA to sex up war? To use women in a sexist way?
Six years after the fact, I still have plenty of anger and even more tears

I must admit that after 9/11 I wanted so much to take out my revenge against the enemy. Unfortunately, I am female so getting to shoot the enemy would have been unlikely and I was a few years too old to enlist. Anyway, I didn't cry at all, not once, for two years.
Later, I saw on the news that Bush decided we were diverting from going after the enemy and, instead, for some incredible reason I could not figure out, and still can't, were on our way to Iraq. Again, FURIOUS, but this time at George W. Bush.
