Help Patrick Murphy fight back against “swift boat” attacks!

Patrick Murphy is a proud “Fighting Democrat” running for Congress in Pennsylvania’s 8th District. In recent days, Patrick Murphy’s opponent, Republican Congressman Mike Fitzgerald, disparaged Patrick’s service to our country. Patrick Murphy served with honor and integrity in Iraq, and no one – especially a Republican Congressman who has never served in the military – should ever be able to get away with such baseless, offensive attacks.

In a phone call with Patrick Murphy on Sunday, I pledged that our SecuringAmerica community would do everything we could to give him the resources he needs to fight back. Congressman Mike Fitzgerald’s attacks against Patrick’s service and honor are the height of hypocrisy, and they have no place in politics. Let’s make sure Fitzgerald knows that he can’t get away with it.

Contribute to Patrick Murphy’s campaign today. Let’s give him the resources he needs to fight back and set the record straight!

First off, I would like to take a moment to thank General Clark and the team at the Clark Community Network for making it possible for me to be here today. For those who aren't familiar with me or my race, my name is Joe Sestak and I am running against Rep. Curt Weldon in Pennsylvania's 7th Congressional District.

What's your prediction for today?

I'll lead off: Clinton by eight percentage points and about 160,000 votes, reducing the popular vote margin to just over half a million, not counting Michigan and Florida. There will be endless discussions among the punditocracy about whether or not the margin is big enough to keep Clinton in the race. Clinton will claim a resounding victory in a key state and vows to go all the way through June 3 and beyond.

Hillary won overwhelmingly in Philadelphia - 5 to 0! --Poor stingy John McCain.

Stunning. Hillary's dominance in this debate was absolutely stunning. If I were stingy John McCain, I would not be sleeping easily tonight. Because there is no way in the world that stingy John McCain can hold a candle to Hillary in debate, and tonight it became very clear that Hillary is likely to be his opponent in November.

Joe Sestak (PA-7) to guest blog at CCN Thurs. 9/21/06 @ 7PM EDT/ 6PM CDT

| | |

We're very pleased to announce that Joe Sestak (Democratic candidate for PA-7) will be joining us at the Clark Community Network on Thursday, September 21 at 7:00 PM EDT/ 6:00PM CDT as a guest blogger.

Former 3 Star Admiral Joe Sestak will discuss his four key pillars of national security beginning at home in the health, education, economic and defense securities of our citizens. Sestak will discuss how these securities are being eroded by the policies of this Congress and Administration. He will discuss how he is running to reverse that erosion, and to help establish a new direction.

General Clark has said: "Today American families face many difficult challenges at home and abroad. We face continued threats to national security, and we must prepare for a changing global economy that demands that America train our people to compete for the highest paying jobs. Joe Sestak has the leadership and experience to battle the toughest issues both at home and abroad.

"As a former Navy Admiral, Joe knows first hand what it takes to keep this country safe. He has the vision and know-how to foster economic opportunities for Americans so we can better compete in the world economy."

"The elections in 2006 are not local, they are national. These are choices of war and peace and what this country stands for, and our basic liberties and freedoms under the Constitution of the United States of America. That’s what this election in 2006 is all about. We have an opportunity to turn things around now before it's too late. To change politics-as-usual, we have to vote for someone besides the usual politicians."
