Wes Clark teaches us that security is found by living our democratic ideals, not

by using force

final (?) draft for kos diary
thanks everyone for very helpful suggestions

It's sad that some of our leading Democratic presidential candidates feel compelled to compete with one another to show who's tougher on national security.

Wes Clark, a four star general with 34 years of military service, has the courage to tell us what we sense is the truth - that saber rattling and aggression make us less safe and that living up to our own ideals would give us the legitimacy to secure a safer more peaceful world.

McCain as Republican nominee--> Clark as Democratic VP

I am hopeful that if McCain should become the Republican nominee, Wesley Clark would be seriously considered for VP on the Democratic ticket. Clark would bring the military credentials to balance McCain's military status and would add a very progressive presence to the ticket. I believe that he will be seriously considered should either Clinton or Obama be the nominee as both could benefit from Clark's presence. Obviously, Clinton and Clark are close, and could work together well.
