Cheney's Law - Frontline

| | | | | | | | | | | |

I thought I would make this a 'diary' instead of just a comment in the GD

If you did not see Frontline today, then please check your listings and watch the "Cheney's Law" episode.

Excuse my language but... Why Are These Fuckers NOT In Jail!?

I swear that they ignore EVERY piece of OUR Constitution! Especially the part that says "We The People"!

Weirdest. Moment. Ever.

For more than 6 years, I’ve criticized the Bush Administration for all things, small and large. But something happened at yesterday’s press conference that struck me as the weirdest on-camera moment to date (barely beating out the press conference of Harry Whittington, who emerged from the hospital and apologized to Dick Cheney for getting shot in the face...by Dick Cheney.)

Worn In The USA

| | | | | | | | |

I know that this topic has been blogged about before but it also seems to have fallen off the radar. Are the Democrats dealing with this? If not.. THEY SHOULD!

The overwhelming majority of the workers in the Marianas are immigrants who were promised a better life only to be placed in sweatshops, working long hours under grueling conditions for little pay and with none of the benefits that we have come to enjoy here in the States, albeit seemingly in decline. Many young women, lured with the vow of employment in the restaurant business, have instead been forced into prostitution and some have even been made to undergo abortions.

Rumsfeld Gone! An "About Face" on Iraq...

...Not!
- 101 Jokes to Make Benefit Glorious Khazikstan

How many times will the press fall for Bush’s fake humility and hollow talk?

During his press conference yesterday, Bush talked a lot about change and bipartisan cooperation, but he showed no signs that he’s willing to alter anything but his PR. In one breath, he said Donald Rumsfeld’s resignation is a sign of changing times in Iraq. In the next breath, he admitted that he lied about keeping Donald Rumsfeld as Defense Secretary.

All spoken through gritted teeth and without a hint of sincerity.

An Open Apology to the World

We're sorry. We realize today that we can't let him out of the White House, much less the country.

First, when asked about the war in Iraq and the Middle East crisis, he offended plenty with repeated jokes about the evening's pig roast.

Then, he dropped the S-bomb. Not very dignified, we know. No need to revisit that.

And of course, he was smacking his food with his mouth wide open. And talking to the Prime Minister of Great Britain with his mouth full. Not especially polite, especially when he's dining with the world's seven most powerful leaders. We realize this.

George Hearts Tony

With all that's going on in the world, I thought everyone could use a little levity this morning. Hat tip to Stephanie for the Raw Story article...

You might think a war that's going badly would put some serious strain on a transatlantic relationship. You'd think wrong.

The bond between George and Tony couldn't be stronger.

Seriously, based on this conversation at the G8 Summit, I think Bush and Blair are totally gay for each other.

Yellow Snow

As part of George Bush’s entourage, White House Press Secretary Tony Snow and White House Counselor Dan Bartlett traveled to Baghdad yesterday.

This is a picture of the two of them in a helicopter flying from the Baghdad airport to the U.S. Embassy located in the secure and cozy Green Zone. Don’t they look thrilled to be in a liberated Iraq?/

Let this photo serve to remind us about several things regarding the Iraq War.

When members of the Bush Administration stand behind a podium in Washington and talk tough about Iraq (or Iran or North Korea), let’s remember this photo.
