Sarah Palin

Another report from my bellweather hometown in Ohio

Just got this video from my cousin. I sort of doubt that we'll hear any reports as to how Chillicothe voted tonight, but historically, as Chillicothe votes, so goes Ohio.

There are pictures and video of Senator Obama's visit to Chillicothe in this previous diary.

Lee Stranahan has started a kind of hip series of short videos for Obama that you might like to know about. Here are the first of the 30 in the countdown to election day.

Health Care (#30)

End The 60s (#29)

Smart (#28)

Computer Stuff (#27)

Shelly Mandell endorsed Sarah Palin. Will this make a difference?

Yesterday, some people at a rally in California may have seen another turning point in the race for the Presidency.

First of all, while the media will likely ignore this or gloss this over,

Is this new film really brave or just alarming? And, will your dog wag?

Bravenewfilms argues in this alarming new video that John McCain's health records must be released. Much of their case seems to rest upon the fact that Senator McCain has been treated for Stage II melanoma.

The state of John McCain's health is an issue of grave concern for all Americans, regardless of political persuasion. Given the fact that he has been treated for an invasive melanoma and other maladies, it is important that he release his full health records.

This report came to me via email. I am not certain who wrote it or who took the pictures. Impressive turnout. I really like the creative placards. Kudos to all the women and men involved.

In Reagan's Shadow

Watching precipitous drop on Democratic popularity in the polls - from the anonymous Democrat to the presidential nominee - leaves me shaking my head at the sheer ineptitude of the people allegedly in charge of the operation. But even more it makes me want to take a long, hard look at why, in a political year that favors the Democrats more than any year since the FDR era, victory is being thrown away.

Does America Really Want Substandard Leaders?

| | | |

OK, we didn't get our West Point valedictorian, Rhodes Scholar, decorated warrior and proven leader on this year's ticket. Many are disappointed we didn't get the obviously brilliant Ivy League (Yale) educated Hillary Clinton. However, we did end up with a Harvard Law School magna cum laude in Barack Obama, which as I understand, you've got to be in the real deal upper echelon to get from Harvard Law School. And his #2, Joe Biden, is someone who admits he was a "lazy student" graduating 506th out of 688 in his undergrad, but continued on to earn a JD and gain admission to the bar.

Partisan rumor-mongerers chill out! Neither Obama nor Palin is a monster!

UPDATE 9/10/08: The factcheck.org article re: various rumors concerning Sarah Palin is now also at newsweek.com. This demonstrates that it doesn't take the mainstream media long to do this, when they want to, which supports what I said below (yesterday).

The Surge Is Working

| | | | | | | |

Let's just stop for a moment and parrot what mccain, palin and the repubs say - "the surge is working" (actually it should be called the escalation).

Now why don't the Democrats and Obama/Biden try responding with something like this...

"Ok, let's say that the surge or escalation is working.

Is the surge working because al-sadr decided he wanted to be an ayotollah, told his army to stand down and took off to Iran for training and schooling?

Is the surge working because we are paying off militant groups to stand down?

Thank You Repubs and Sarah Palin!
