"Obama: Hillary Throwing 'The China' at Me"

| | |

"She's got the kitchen sink flying, the china flying,
and the, you know, the buffet is coming at me."
(4/20/08 Political Punch, ABCNews.com, Politics)

Hillary Clinton: "Well, I know that some of my opponents'
supporters and my opponent have been complaining about hard
questions. Well, having been in the White House for eight years
and seeing what happens in terms of the pressures and the
stresses on the president, that was nothing. I am with
Harry Truman on this: if you can't stand the heat, get out of
the kitchen. I am very comfortable in the kitchen."

Krugman: Clinging To A Stereotype

| |

Some more food for thought from Paul Krugman. I particularly appreciated his recognition of how Obama routinely dismisses and devalues the many positive accomplishments of President Clinton's administration.

The Will Of The People Is Not In The Pledged Delegate Count

|

Big Tent Democrat takes a look at how undemocratic (lowercase d) the process for choosing our Democratic presidential nominee is. If we only had a "free press" that would inform the people of how this works, perhaps there would be a groundswell of support to change the system. As it is, I don't think many are aware, or even care how unrepresentative the process actually is.

The Obama Craze: Count Me Out

The following article was linked by Jeralyn at Talk Left. Mr. Gonzalez reveals important information not being exposed by the media regarding Senator Obama's past actions in the Senate on many issues.

I only hope it's not too late for people to open their eyes and realize we've got a real champion in Senator Clinton, ready and willing to lead our country out of the huge mess that will be left once GWB and his wrecking crew are gone.

Hilary Won Big in Florida

|

Fred Seamon's picture

Or did she?

It appears so. She had 50 percent of the vote, Obama 33 percent and John Edwards 14 percent. And she held a victory celebration in Davie Florida, last night proclaiming "I am convinced that with this resounding vote, with the millions of Americans who will vote next Tuesday, we will send a clear message that America is back and we will take charge of our destiny once again."

Michigan Delegates Excluded From Democratic Convention

"Can Gen. Petraeus and Ryan Crocker Save the Next Democratic President?"

| | |

A Juan Cole must read......

If the Democrats cannot prevail in withdrawing before Bush goes out of office (and they cannot), and if they then rapidly draw down the troops on taking office in 2009, they face the real prospect of a "Gerald Ford meltdown" of the sort that occurred in 1975 when the North Vietnamese and their VC allies took over South Vietnam.

Wes Clark 2008: Why You Would Win Iowa and Take It All

| | | | | | | | | | |

Today's Los Angeles Times had the following story on the front page:

FOREIGN POLICY IS CENTRAL IN 2008 PRESIDENTIAL RACES
http://www.latimes.com/news/nationworld/nation/la-na-iraqviews29jul29,0,2858677.story?coll=la-home-center

And it describes a contemporary political landscape that makes a 2008 Wes Clark candidacy highly potent and viable- regardless of any money concerns alluded to on Charlie Rose.

The Democratic Surrender - Thoughts on Day 2

| |

Fred Seamon's picture

Although it looks like an abject surrender to me, our Democratic leaders tell us that they have not yet begun to fight and to just wait until September when, with the aid of disaffected Republicans, we're really going to thump Bush.

Why am I, a congenital optimist, skeptical that in September the Democrats will somehow compel Bush to agree to begin redeploying troops from Iraq?

Because of historic precedent.

Let me attempt to explain.

How would you describe George W. Bush?
