The following article was linked by Jeralyn at Talk Left. Mr. Gonzalez reveals important information not being exposed by the media regarding Senator Obama's past actions in the Senate on many issues.
I only hope it's not too late for people to open their eyes and realize we've got a real champion in Senator Clinton, ready and willing to lead our country out of the huge mess that will be left once GWB and his wrecking crew are gone.

"A letter from Iran: Don't preempt"
snippet
Do the Iranian people really want to go to war with the Jewish people? The answer is a resounding No! For thousands of years the Iranian and Jewish peoples have lived in peace, and continue to do so to this very day. There are 25,000 Jewish Iranians living and working in Iran without any persecution or worry.
Theories that blame the Jewish community for the war will not be tolerated.

Predictably, there are various websites now attempting to spin Wes Clark's recent remarks to Arianna Huffington as evidence of anti-Semitism. However, in my unscientific survey of some of those sites, I find encouraging evidence that most of those commenting on such spin are apparently far too intelligent to fall for such nonsense. So far, I think few but the usual anti-Clark propagandists suggest that they are buying it.
However, Wes has run up against negative propaganda before; and he is well aware that it needs to be answered swiftly (no pun intended). So, he has written a letter to the Jewish Daily Forward which is posted at:

In the new New Yorker, Sy Hersh has a new article about Iran, Iraq, Cheney and the neocon plan to circumvent
The Dems controlling capitol hill. They plan to "retire" Rummy was in the works before the election. Rummy was
in on the planning as was Cheney. It was part of the WH plot to appear to be throwing an olive branch to the Dems.
As for their own party, these folks are renegade. They operate on their own, trying to avoid complications they
encountered during the Contra years and the Boland Ammendment. They aren't worried about congress getting in their
way regarding Iraq, but worry about legislation that could interfere with their plans for Iran. There's also some

All war is terrible. But it's important to remember, as reporters only cover what's happening in Israel and Lebanon, that Americans are still fighting - and dying - in Iraq and Afghanistan.
And no matter whether you believe we should be in Iraq or not, we should all feel great loss about the innocent American and Iraqi people who continue to die on a daily basis.
At the end of this outstanding Jimmy Breslin article, you'll find a list of American soldiers who died from fighting in Iraq from July 1 to Aug. 6. It includes their ages, hometowns and causes of deaths. I suggest reading every entry.
Israeli military strategy is a short term failure, and a long term disaster.

Success and failure in any military operation is based upon the ability of an action to achieve it's objectives, Israel set out almost a month ago to degrade and destroy Hezbollah, get back it’s soldiers, and kill Hassan Nasrallah. In every objective it set it has failed abysmally, Israeli officials speak of degrading the infrastructure of Hezbollah. But the infrastructure of Hezbollah remains largely intact, the ability of Hezbollah to continue fighting is a testament to the resiliency of the organization. Hezbollah will not be pushed back to the Litani River for at least a month, and as Hezbollah is pushed north Israel’s supply lines will grow longer as Hezbollah supply lines grow shorter. Israel will have more land it has to defend and Hezbollah will be able to concentrate it’s efforts.

After over a week of watching and waiting, I’ve thought long and hard about where this war will go, and I don‘t like what I am seeing. And for the first time I find myself in open disagreement with General Clark unless as I hope I have misunderstood his position on what Israel is doing. Though I know our General is the last person who would criticize citizens expressing dissent. But to tell the truth... Kofi Annan is right, the fighting has to stop.. right now. Personally I just don’t think the Israeli targeting system is as effective as many believe it to be.
Hezbollah has proven to be a far more effective organization than anyone had predicted. Israel’s attack is having the opposite effect it intended. Instead of weakening Hezbollah the Israeli’s have failed fundamentally to understand the methods and motivation’s of Hezbollah. The Israeli's air campaign by targeting Lebanese infrastructure is moving the Lebanese people and to some extent even the government into the sphere of Hezbollah.
History may just show how unPresidentially, Bush started WW-III

History may just show how President Bush started WWIII.
un-Presidential Arrogance:
Is it clearer now, why the Iraq war (you know, the "War of Errors") was the greatest "strategic blunder" ever made my a US President? In total arrogance and from percieved leadership, President Bush opened the Pandora's box of Evil around the world; and what was once a diplomatic process towards regional stability is now an escalation of hatred, tensions and regional chaos in the Middle East. OBL must have a huge grin stretched across his face as he looks down on this President.

I've given you the setting. Here's what we should be doing:
Number one. We've got to correct the over-reliance on the military. The military is this powerful, wonderful image. You can (inaudible). It's like Chris Matthews was saying, (shouts) "Hey, can't we appoint a - get a czar? Can't we get a MacArthur down there and fix all these problems? What about Tommy Franks?" Well listen, the military is wonderful. I love to military. I spent 34 years in it, but you cannot win the war on terror by using predominantly the US armed forces. Winning the war against terrorism is not primarily a matter of killing people. It's primarily a matter of persuading people that they don't want to be terrorists. That they've got more to gain by staying within the system working in normal lives and contributing to society positively rather than having to give up their life to commit horrible acts against us and our allies. It's a matter of persuasion, not a matter of killing, primarily. You cannot secure facilities by armed guards indefinitely. There's no fixed number of terrorists out there, by the way. It's not like there's a genetic marker, 1/10th of 1% of the population of certain countries is predisposed to be terrorists. These are just ordinary people. They're enraged. They're misled, but they're enraged. They've seen a certain image of the world. It jars them. The best we can tell, these are not ignorant people. These are not the poorest people. These are not malnourished people. These are, by and large, people from educated backgrounds, from middle income homes, who feel the same kind of urge to stand up and protect what they believe is their society that American did during WWII when they flocked, our countrymen, flock to enlist in the United States armed forces. So, we have a problem in approaching the war on terror as predominantly a military exercise. We're not going to win that way. What we have to do to win is stop making so many enemies and start making more friends.
