Sexism

The big losers in this election: All Women.

Two recent articles that are well worth reading if you think of yourself as a liberal/progressive or just a decent human being.......

This from Amy Siskind.....

......Witnessing the horrific treatment of Senator Clinton during the 2008 Presidential Primary, many women of this country joined forces and said: “Never again!”

Obama's remark about her "feeling down" and "periodically..." sounds sexist.

And then he ended that really awful remark with the word "appeal", as in "sex appeal" or what, Barack?

Karen Stabiner, over at Huffington Post, has a new diary entitled The Change Candidate Needs to Change His Tone Towards Women. Her diary concerns Senator Obama's particular choice of words in response to someone's question at a televised campaign stop.

Unconscious sexism, in my opinion, is even more widespread than unconscious racism. That's why I was happy to see Karen's diary.

IAVA and the New Video

| | |

Below is what I sent in an email to IAVA and others. How does it make you feel? What are your thoughts?

I and some others just saw your new video.

We are not happy.

I have been a big supporter of IAVA and Paul Rieckhoff. I am also a big Wes Clark supporter and when you do things like this it makes me question my support.

Why is this video a good thing? Seems like something the righties would put together.

With all that goes on with women in the military getting raped, mistreated, etc. ... why is it a good thing for IAVA to sex up war? To use women in a sexist way?

Sexist, Racist, Hateful - Beck. What should be done about this?

Found the following diary at MyDD.com and feel that this is very important. Not just because of who said it and who it was said about, but because it is WRONG for CNN to be supporting this guy.. thing!

Tell me what you think and what we can do about this.

This is seriously unacceptable:

Shouldn't There Be More? Is Pelosi A Sign Of The Near Future?

| | | | | | |

What are you feelings on this? This list does seem so... lacking. What do you believe the reasons for this are? Now I am not advocating Senator Clinton for President but if we can not get Clark would she or another qualified woman not be a viable candidate?

Seems there should be more to this list. Women in this country have come a long ways but with the help of the media, some of that has been taken away (just think about it).

WESPAC, You probably could use a good laugh right about now.

I went to my mailbox and somehow got on N.O.W.'s mailing List. No surprize, as I have my name on alot of mailing list I have no idea how I got on them. Anyway, do you know what their new slogan is,,, "Trust Women".. Now isn't that just about as sexist as a slogan that reads 'Trust Men"? For God's Sake will you people stop trying to pump Hillary down our throats. She can not get 1/4 of the male vote. If that don't smell loser, you people need a reality check!
Ah, but today a woman was speaking about how conterproductive gossup is. Then she took it a bit further and said that women gossup more than men.
