A Slobbering Love Affair

|

I just might have to get this book :

(CNN) — It has become one of MSNBC host Chris Matthew's most infamous lines of the 2008 presidential election:

"I felt this thrill going up my leg," Matthews said the night Obama resoundingly defeated rival Hillary Clinton in the Virginia and Maryland Democratic primaries.

"Hillary invades Obama's convention"?

With permission, I am re-posting a diary by Alegre at Alegre's Corner

about Media Matters Eric Boehlert's article today, entitled:

Obama's Prayer

Something Clarkies learned very well in the 2004 campaign was how political smears travel faster than truth. That experience has served me well as an Obama supporter. Doing it a thousand times for General Clark means knowing the routine, how it all plays out. Take a breath. Wait for it to play out. More often than not, the truth of the matter emerges from the cloud of dirt thrown up by these stupid exercises in character assassination.

Hating Hilary

UK's New Statesman US correspondent

Gloating, unshackled sexism of the ugliest kind has been shamelessly peddled by the US media, which - sooner rather than later, I fear - will have to account for their sins

It's because she's a WOMAN!

Eric Boehlert has a piece up right now talking about the unprecedented treatment Hillary has received from the Media.....

.....And the fact is, the media's get-out-now push is unparalleled. Strong second-place candidates such as Ronald Reagan (1976), Ted Kennedy, Gary Hart, Jesse Jackson, and Jerry Brown, all of whom campaigned through the entire primary season, and most of whom took their fights all the way to their party's nominating conventions, were never tagged by the press and told to go home.

"This hurts the people of South Carolina." - Bill Clinton Faults Press

President Clinton takes on the media in Bill Clinton Faults Press.

He makes a similar point in Obama's Denial For Praising Ronald Reagan.

Clearly, it is the media that really cares about political in-fighting. It's relatively easy for them to hype such stories, rather than taking any in-depth look at real issues and where the candidates differ on them.

Myths about Facts

| |

Our larger culture tells us that "facts are facts."  Joe Friday asks for "Just the facts, Ma'am."  Many current Democrats pride themselves on belonging to the "reality-based community," which in turn rests on their presumably keener recognition of "facts."  When it comes to Iraq, we're told, solutions have to turn on "the facts on the ground."  We're told that "facts are stubborn things," that they exist in the real world and don't bend to mere will or belief.

Sexist, Racist, Hateful - Beck. What should be done about this?

Found the following diary at MyDD.com and feel that this is very important. Not just because of who said it and who it was said about, but because it is WRONG for CNN to be supporting this guy.. thing!

Tell me what you think and what we can do about this.

New York Post Article on General Clark

|

Does anyone know if General Clark is aware of today's story in the New York Post? They are saying that a firm
he is Chairman of (Rodman and Renshaw) has received subpoenas from the New York Attorney General and the SEC.
