General Clark Touts Diplomacy, Not Guns

General Clark Touts Diplomacy, Not Guns

by Meg Learson Grosso Oct 30, 2008

One might not expect a former four-star general, who was NATO's Supreme Allied Commander in Europe, to advocate that we should use every other means but the military, before resorting to force, but Wesley K. Clark couldn't have been more emphatic and specific when he spoke at Fairfield University last Thursday evening.

Former General Clark, whose Jewish father died when he was four, gave the Carl & Dorothy Bennett lecture in honor of the 60th anniversary of the founding of Israel.

Goodbye for now CCN

As most here already know I'm joining the army, I am leaving very shortly and this will be my last entry here for some time. I wanted to express my gratitude for all those who contribute to CCN. Being part of this movement for the past six years has been a very infomative and enlightening experience. It has helped me to grow as a person and as a citizen, giving insight into many different issues and perspectives that otherwise I would not be aware of. I hope to report back some of my experiences abroad in service of our nation as time constraints and military regulations allow.

Websites for Illinois Voters

Sorry that this does not meet the general guidelines for a blog post, but I didn't want it to get lost in the GD.

For anyone who has to vote for judges in Illinois, check out these websites for ratings of the various candidates.

I don't know who or how to get this to the right people, so I am going to
say it here, I support Gen. Clark in all that he has done, however I will not
give one more dime to an incumbent. I will however keep on giving straight to
the General and let him give it out however he sees fit. I have come to the point
that I just plain cannot trust how my senators (Lincoln and Pryor)or any other
for that matter will vote, especially on this "torture" issue, the Geneva Rules are just fine
the way they are and they don't need some non-combat R.E.M.F trying to re-write
them.
