Army shuns system to combat RPGs
Experts agree it might help save lives, so why isn’t it in the field?

"Sixteen months ago, commanders in Iraq began asking the Pentagon for a new system to counter RPGs
and other anti-tank weapons.

According to this NBC report that aired on last night's Nightly News, it seems the army is willing to
wait till 2011 or longer for Raytheon to re-invent the "wheel". That would be all well and good in some cases,
but in this case waiting for that glorious day is killing our troops and crushing their families.
