General Wesley Clark on ABC's World News Tonight
transcript by Reg NYC

Voiceover: 2008 brings an accelerated calendar. In January there's Iowa, Nevada, New Hampshire, South Carolina and now Florida. And then comes Super Tuesday, now more super than ever.
More than 20 states will hold primaries, many of them big states carrying big weight. But waiting for those states and giving up on Iowa has proven disastrous before.
In 2004, General Wesley Clark's advisors steered him away from Iowa.
GENERAL WESLEY CLARK: Just turned out to be a fundamental, the, probably the fundamental mistake of the campaign.
Voiceover: He says the 2008 field should not be fooled by a changing calendar.
GENERAL WESLEY CLARK: You could make the case that given the compressed schedule, the momentum coming out of Iowa is even more important.
