The Army Service Ribbon
Every soldier who joined the United States Army upon completion of basic training, Army ROTC, or Officer Training School since its establishment in 1981 has the Army Service Ribbon in common with Wesley Clark.
Clark completed his training before 1981, but those still active in the military year received the ribbon retroactively. Because this decoration is so prevalent, it has been referred to as the Welcome to the Army Ribbon by new recruits.
