Gran Cruz del Mérito Militar con Distintivo Blanco

In March of 2000, Spanish Foreign Minister Josep Piqué announced that the Cabinet had granted the Gran Cruz del Mérito Militar con Distintivo Blanco (Great Military Service Cross with White Band) to General Clark.

According to the official decree, the Minister of Defense, Eduardo Saws Rexach, conferred the medal in recognition of the outstanding meritorious services that General Clark exhibited in his position as Supreme Allied Commander-Europe.

About Spain's Gran Cruz del Mérito Militar con Distintivo Blanco

The Cross or Great Military service cross serves to reward and to distinguish the members of the Armed Forces for their actions and deeds or the administration of services of outstanding merit or importance.

The medal can be awarded with white, red, blue or yellow symbol, according to the resolution by which it is granted.
