Something Special

Bill Foster and Andre Carson's special elections are just days away -- click here to donate to their campaigns today!

4 and 7.

That's the number of days left until two critical special Congressional elections in Illinois' 14th and Indiana's 7th.

IL-14 was the seat of former Republican Speaker of the House Dennis Hastert, who along with Tom DeLay, led the corrupt Republican machine in the U.S. House. Democrats have world renowned physicist Bill Foster running for the seat. I think you'll agree replacing Hastert with a scientist is an upgrade.

IN-7 was the seat of Democrat Julia Carson, who passed away last year. Her grandson Andre has tremendous experience in law enforcement and is seeking to continue his family's amazing record of service.

4 and 7. That's also the number of days you have left to make a difference. Contribute to Bill and Andre's campaigns today!

Bill Foster

Taking Dennis Hastert's seat carries significant symbolism, and I can't think of a better candidate to replace him than Bill Foster. Bill Foster has an impressive resume, designing world class research machines and starting a multimillion dollar business that provides hundreds of jobs for people in Illinois. I know that someone with Bill's drive and intelligence is the right man for the job and can turn Illinois' 14th Congressional District blue in the March 8th special election.

But Bill's race to victory won't be easy: his opponent, Jim Oberweis, has a history of deceiving voters. Oberweis was once fined $21,000 by the FEC for violating a federal election law, and in past campaigns he used fake headlines in TV ads. Let's make sure Bill has the resources to take on his opponent -- and fight against whatever the Oberweis campaign throws at him.

Andre Carson is also facing a tough special election on March 11th in Indiana. He is running for the 7th Congressional District that his grandmother, Julia Carson, held until she passed away last year. Andre has a strong law enforcement background, having served for nine years as the Officer/Investigator for the Indiana State Excise Police. His extensive experience in national security matters includes his work in the Indiana Department of Homeland Security's Intelligence Fusion Center, where he served in an anti-terrorism unit to keep Indiana's residents safe.

Andre Carson

Andre's race against the Republicans in Indiana is going to be close, but I know that with your help, he can win the 7th Congressional seat. Click on the link below to donate to his campaign today!

Winning the special elections in IL-14 and IN-7 will help Democrats start off the 2008 elections with a bang and a sign for things to come in November. It will show the media, the pundits, and the public that this is the Democrats' year.

But special elections are incredibly unpredictable because of the low turnout and can come down to just a handful of votes. Both races are tight, so any amount you can give to Bill and Andre in these final days could be the difference between winning and losing. It could be the difference between a voter going to the polls or staying home because they don't know an election is happening.

Contribute to Bill and Andre. Help carry them to victory today!

Changing Maps

Election Day for Robin Weirauch is less than two weeks away -- click here to give her the momentum she needs today!

Pouring rain. 10-hour long lines. A final margin of just 2%. This was Ohio in 2004.

But one year before any votes are cast in the general election, we have a chance to send a message to voters in Ohio and across the country: 2008 will not be 2004.

Robin Weirauch is running for the open seat in Ohio's 5th congressional district. Voters will be hitting the ballot box in less than two weeks on December 11.

A victory in OH-5 will send a message across Ohio and America that voters are ready to turn the page on George W. Bush and the Republicans. Contribute to Robin's campaign today!

As the daughter of a retired Master Sergeant in the United States Air Force, Robin will do more than simply repeat slogans like "Support the Troops." She will fight to bring a responsible end to the war in Iraq and make sure our veterans receive the health care they deserve.

A former Emergency Medical Technician and the wife of a retired police officer, Robin has honest middle class values. She understands the critical issues for working-class people such as education, fair trade policies, and bringing good jobs back to Northwest Ohio. She will ensure that all Americans have access to the opportunities that will help them and their children succeed in the 21st Century.

Northwest Ohio and Congress need Robin's strong, honest, independent voice.

Give Robin the final push she needs to win this seat for Democrats and give us the momentum we need heading into the 2008 elections!

Like many of the races I've asked you to help with in the past, this is a tough district. It's a Republican district, but as I've said before, we've got to compete everywhere. Republican districts can become Democratic districts. Republican states can become Democratic states. But only if we contest the seats.

I remember campaigning last year in Montana with Jon Tester, standing with Jim Webb in Virginia, and barnstorming some of the reddest Congressional districts in the final days of the 2006 elections. With you by my side, we changed the map.

We have the chance to do it again. Bush won this district by 20 points in 2004, but in 2006, Governor Ted Strickland and Senator Sherrod Brown carried it for Democrats. Now in this special election, just 13 days away, Robin Weirauch can win Ohio's 5th district...with your help.

Please rush a contribution to Robin in these final days before the special election on December 11.

You are helping to change our country, and I can't thank you enough for all you do.
